Prabhu
is a well known astrologer from India, Pune. She has studied the science
of Astrology since 1962. At that time, she was the only woman astrologer.
She believes that Astrology is a very deep science and that
every one should have the knowledge of Astrology, to guide one
self at every step in life. With this aim in mind she
established an Astrological Research and Training Institute called 'Jyotirvidhyabhavan'
in 1972. The base of this institute is to spread the knowledge of
astrology. The institute offers a correspondence course in Marathi for the
past 40 years. Till date the institute has trained more than 1000
students.
Smt. Prabhu is the Editor and Publisher of an Astrological magazine
titled 'Jyotishchandrika', since 1979. Through her articles and
interactions with people she has constantly urged the use of astrology as
a guideline and has discouraged the superstitious use of acts like Graha
Shanti (Pacifying planets) and others. She believes Astrology has the
power to guide and not to change the destiny.
In her years of teaching,
she realized the need of a Research based Astrological Dictionary, and
hence decided to publish it herself. 'Jyotish Shabdhagranth' the complete
Dictionary of Vedic Astrology, with more than 4000 words, is the result of
years of hard work and research.
